In Agamben's "que es lo contemporaneo?, the concept of being contemporary is defined by how a person can separate themselves from the "light "of their time and focus on the "dark". Alienating themselves from their time. An example of this could be the various art movements that sprung up between wars in the 20th century, now called contemporary art.

These art movements focused on what the artists thought was wrong with heir time's society and art, creating art that went along with it.

In relation to Pluralism vs. the cloud, when we focus on the timeline throughout we see that architecture started to lose their original concepts and began developing into many branches of different architecture that adapted to their needs through their time.

The same way art evolved in between wars to outline or shadow certain details of their time architecture needs to follow. In order to stay contemporary to the architecture of our time we have to look past the light and see the dark, looking back at the light and dark of other periods of time, in order to aid the future contemporaries.
